Servitude with Attitude....What have you done nice for someone
Greetings to all of you. It is another beautiful day in which God has given to us. As I was praying about the topic for today I was taken back to one particular scripture. I remember one of my former minister's talking about servitude with attitude and how our attitudes reflect when we do things for others. As each of you are reading this blog, I want you to take a moment and decide where it is your attitude lies in being one of God's servants.
In today's world many people feel that the real existence of being kind to your neighbor no longer exists. We are all always on the go, we never have time to help each other, nor do we have time to say a kind word to someone who might need it. We are a nation today that tends to forgo any and all gestures of being polite in any manner. We feel instead that people "owe" us as that is how the world
now perceives generosity.  We are no longer asked how we are doing or what we can do to help, BUT we are told how bad life truly is and how hard a time there is going on with this person or that. We are expected to take all but give nothing yet when we do have to help or give to those around who need it, we tend to do it with attitude of not joy and happiness BUT instead we do it with discouragement and aggravation. We therefore in turn are serving BUT the attitude is not what we is expected from us. When God sent Christ to die for our sins do you think He did it with attitude about it ? I think not....for when He sent his one and only son to die on the cross, not for his sins, BUT ours as he did it as John 3:16 clearly states:

"For God so loved the world that HE gave his one and only Son, that
whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

We therefore need to see that if God is willing to do that for us and not grumble nor complain about doing that, then we as Christians need to do the same for our family, friends, and neighbors. Many of us tend to think that we are the ones to be served yet that is not the case as we are shown in the book of Mark Chapter 10:

45- For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

We see then that even Christ served those around with no complaints or the selfishness that is seen in society today, even though He knew He was going to die. The example I think of Christ serving was feeding the five thousand with the five loaves of bread and two fish. Yes it was a miracle that was done but I also relate it to the fact of picking up someone's tab at a restaurant, helping a struggling person in line at the store get that last little bit of money to get what they can't buy, or even saying a kind word to someone who needs it. To me that is the true act of kindness and shows exactly what is being discussed in Mark 10:45 as we are serving others and not waiting on someone else to serve us.
In closing, I am asking you all this question.....How is your attitude when you are serving as God has so instructed ? Is it sour, grumpy, and that this world owes you OR is it caring, loving, and humbleness ? For me I would much rather be happy and humbled in serving than I would anything. For remember that when people in this world see Christians at work in the true meaning and ways Christ wants, it will lead them to ask questions and know more about the God we serve.
Remember if you are interested in having me speak to your church, school, group, or organization and if you are interested in a copy of the book, you can find all the information on this sites main webpage.
Thank you and God Bless you all-
In Christ-
