Sink or Swim……. Are you listening to the
truthful
voice?
Good day all! I hope this day is
going well for everyone. Have been a little busy trying to get more promotion
on the book out so none to say God is fulfilling my time with the work He has
for me. I have to admit however I have ran into a few times here recently
that I have been told that the promises I have been given by God was not
true….none to say, we all know who that is. Hence this is where the blog for
today comes from. As you prepare to read this, I want you to stop and think
about something…when you have been told things by God through the Holy Spirit
how many times has Satan attacked you because of it? Are listening and trusting
the voice of truth…God OR are you listening to Satan and not only all the lies
he is giving you but also the reminders of the past? Are you being like Peter
who Christ told to walk on the water…having the faith that what God has told
you is going to happen or are you sinking and not trusting? Think about this as
you continue to read and then decide, are you going to sink or swim?
Many times in life we wonder in what direction
God wants us going. A lot of times however many of us get the instructions from
God early….just as I received when I was fifteen. I knew and I do know that God
is truly the voice of truth however, I am like many who have to daily fight
Satan off because of how he is. He enjoys reminding us of our past and of our
failures. He also likes to try to get us to turn away from God by telling us
what God has promised us will not happen; it is not true all the while laughing
at us. When put in this predicament, we are like Peter who was in the boat when
Christ was out walking on the water. If you remember He instructed Peter to
come to Him and without hesitation, Peter was walking to Jesus on the water.
The problem occurred however when Peter realized it and lost the faith in which
he would then begin to sink and drown. The same goes with us in that we hold
our faith and belief strong until Satan begins attacking us and we realize we
are "walking” on water. The fact is though that if when we are instructed by
God we just continue to listen and do as He has commanded, that we will be able
to walk on the water with God fully. In the book of Jeremiah, we are instructed
what happens when we do listen to God, especially in the seventh chapter. We
are clearly told that:
23- but I gave them this command: Obey
me, and I will be your God and
you will
be my people. Walk in all the
ways I
command you, that it may go
well with
you.
So as you can
see, God has fully instructed that if we
obeyed him and
did as He instructed that we will have a much better chance of swimming. The
chances of sinking when we obey what God tells us is slim to none. On the other
hand however, if we continue to listen to the voice that tells us what a
failure we are and continually reminds us of our past, we will end up sinking
deep in which we would never recover. So let me ask you ….are you listening to
the voice of truth in which will help you to walk on the water not allowing you
to sink OR are you listening to the voice that reminds us of our failures and
our past causing us to sink daily ? Myself, I would much rather listen to the
voice of truth so I can continue to walk with Him on the water and when the
voice reminds me of my past and my failures.…well, I just remind him of his
future.
