Good Super bowl Sunday and first of February all! Hope this finds you all doing well. As we are into Super bowl Sunday, I have had something crossing my mind and I thought that this would be the perfect topic for today. We hear how this is one of the biggest games of the year; right up there with things such as the World Series, Daytona 500, and as a wrestling fan, WrestleMania. This is to find exactly who the best of the best is and we tend to develop a faith in those who are in it or win it. We see them as the “best of the best”, but the fact is there is someone else who truly is the best of the best; someone I tend to put more of my faith in then ANY football team, baseball team, racer, or even wrestler. He died for all of our sins and to me that is truly the best of the best. When Jesus died for all of our sins that was truly making the ultimate sacrifice. Don’t get me wrong, I like football and yes I have my pick. I like racing and have my favorite drivers. I love baseball and have my teams I root for and yes, I am a wrestling fan and I truly have my favorites there. The thing is though none of them are truly the best of the best. The best of the best died for my sins and accepts me for who I am. He loves me no matter how many fumbles in life I make. He sees my heart and not the outside of me. As I was reading my scripture for the day, it was as if this was fitting right into my blog today. In John 5:43-44 it states:
43- I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
44- How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
I understand that the sporting events are a past time of entertainment in today’s society, but the question is this. If you say you believe when accepting the glory from one another but don’t seek the glory that comes from the best of the best, how can one truly believe? Remember this, when you seek the glory that does come from God then you have received from only the best of the best and the rest (meaning accepting glory from others) is only an added bonus. The truth is however that glory one receives from others should be given to the best of the best. For without Him we are nothing and can do nothing, BUT with Him we are something and can do ALL things with the best of the best….God. On that note
everyone have a great day, enjoy your Super bowl Sunday, but remember, the teams are where they are (despite the opinions of people) because of having the best of the best in a season. Myself, I am grateful to have the best of the best all year round.
Lord willing and until tomorrow-
God bless and keep you all today-
