Good
day once again all……I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I know that I am
even though the hip is pretty sore but I know that God has this all in His
hands. The price one pays when they slide through oil. Speaking of prices paid
that is the topic for today’s blog…..price…..how much would you give or how much
would you pay for something……including your life? I want you to stop a moment
and think of the most expensive item you bought just for yourself. Now this
does not include things such as houses, cars, or the things we have to truly
have to live. I am talking about something that would truly be considered a
luxury in today’s society, for example….a laptop, a kindle, or even say an iPod.
How much would you be willing to put
forth to purchase something? Think about that as you continue to read the blog.
A
penny; a dime; a nickel; a quarter; a dollar; five dollars; ten dollars; one
hundred; thousand…..monetary figures that many of us tend to pay for items that
we feel we need or have to have in order to live. Let me back up just a moment
and say the prices we pay for things such as a house, a car, food, utilities, gas,
and the daily essentials, I am not including in this. What I am including however are things
such as the money we pay out for say a laptop, an iPod, an Xbox, and all the
things that we have as luxuries in life. The price that we all pay for this can
be extreme, but the highest price that has ever been paid came when Jesus
Christ died on the cross for us. For without His death we would not be able to
live because for those of us who have accepted Him, we also died upon that
cross so that we could live. In the second chapter of Galatians we are told:
20 - I have been crucified with Christ and
I no longer live, but
Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I
live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me.
You can see that Christ paid
the greatest price ever when He took the sins of us all and bored each and every
one of them upon the cross. To me, I see a stamp on my sins that says paid in
full. For me that is an amazing feeling to know that someone loved me so much
that they took the beatings, the
torture, the nails, the thorns, and finally the heaviness of that wooden cross
so that I can live. For it was because of Christ dying and then raising again
that all the sins of my past have been wiped away and I was crucified…..I died when He died, but
yet because of accepting Him in my life, I can live because He lives within me.
We all pay prices for the
things we need or want. There is a set price for all we have but to me the
greatest price ever given was that of when Christ was crucified for something I
did. So, let me ask you this…..you are willing to pay prices for things that
are a luxury to live BUT would you have been brave enough to pay that ultimate…..the
greatest price, for someone else’s wrong doings ? I know I wouldn’t have but I
can say that I am so grateful and I am humbled to God for sending Christ to do
just that….paying a great price for me.
